Introduction to Building Fly Rods


This class will cover all aspects of building your first graphite fly rod. From the selection of components to the tools and techniques required to build and finish your fly rod. This class is a three part class:

1. Selecting your blank and components and ordering of everything you need to build your fly rod, 1to 2 hrs.

2. Learn to prepare your cork handle and guides, glue on your reel seat and cork handle and spacing of guides and start wrapping guides. Finish wrapping guides at home, 4 hrs.

3. Meet in the final class to learn how to finish your rod guides. 2-3 hrs.

This class will require you to purchase your rod blank, rod components and finishing supplies.
